"One cannot lead another where one has not gone" to me states that experience is a great teacher. If I have not done it than Surely I can not walk you through it and discuss the outcome, if I myself have not done it. The best I can describe it is how I achieved my successful weight loss. To this date and for well over a year I have been talking to people about health and nutrition. I could not get anyone to commit to making better lifestyle change. Therefore I decided to be my own protege and commit to my own lifestyle change. In doing this I successfully lost 30lbs and a minium of 10inches. I now am a poster child for many peoples they try to understand my discipline and dedication to greater health. As a leader in healthcare I feel that it is essential to always increase your knowledge, whether it be through education or real experience, to always provide exceptional service to your clients/patients so that they are comfortable sharing their experience and confiding their experiences and care to you.
I van implement these concepts through understanding life and how I endure, conquer, and evolve through experience. Chance Nd change offers both, I need to be accepting of both.
Well it sounds like your Mom was a great choice to use during this exercise to focus on. You know one thing I need to remind myself about the people we choose to focus on is that they too had to make these choices in their lives. From the outside it appeared they had it all together and truth be told they had been through the same conflicts or similar ones within that we are moving through. I think this is why we are so willing to choose them to focus on, it ties into that quote "One cannot lead another where one has not gone".
ReplyDeleteSo in the midst of the chaos don't forget to stop and take time for yourself and preparing your mind for the next event. I think all too often we are willing to just keep pushing through life without truly preparing our minds to be ready for the next hurdle. Hang in there and I will be praying that you find that time for yourself this week!
Good evening Ann, I too thought of my mom while practicing this exercise. I chose my mom because she is strong and she seems to be able to successfully think of others and sincerely care about people. I know I care, but I want to be able to care without having to spend a great deal of effort into it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that if you are not leading a healthy lifestyle, you cannot teach or show others to lead healthy lives.
Have a wonderful night!
